The Best Performing Emerging Bond Markets of 2012

Emerging market bonds were the best performing fixed-income asset class of 2012, gaining 16.52% based on the return of the largest exchange-traded fund in this market segment, the iShares JPMorgan USD Emerging Markets Bond Fund (ticker: EMB). But which markets delivered the best and worst performance?  The results are below, using the countries represented in the J.P. Morgan Emerging Markets Bond Index-Plus, with data through December 27:
